Helpful Tips During the Loan Process

The loan approval process includes researching your credit, employment history, assets and the appraisal of the property. Here are some things to consider during the loan approval process.

DO

  • Do respond promptly to your loan officer for any additional documentation requests

  • Do keep credit card balances below available limits at all times during the loan process (preferably under 40% availability limit or less)

  • Do pay all accounts on time

  • Do inform your loan officer if you receive money from family member or a friend

  • All money transfers from 1 account to another will need to be able to traced

  • Do inform your loan officer immediately of any sudden change in job status

  • Do stay in contact with your loan officer and real estate agent throughout the entire loan process

  • Do call your loan officer and real estate agent with any questions and/concerns. We are here to help!

DON’T

  • Don't change your name or address during the loan process

  • Don't change employment or job status before consulting with your loan officer

  • Don't make any major purchases, such as a car, furniture or another house

  • Don't apply for new credit cards or any credit of any kind

  • Don't pay off collections or charge offs without consulting with your loan officer

  • Don't consolidate your debt

  • Don't close any credit card accounts

  • Don't dispute anything on your credit report once the loan process has started

During the loan process, it's so important to always consult with your loan officer and real estate agent before doing anything that could affect your accounts, credit history, employment or downpayment.
